Job Description

If you studied Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Science & Technology, Chemistry, Polymer Engineering, Mining Engineering, Mineral Engineering, Materials Science - and then either joined a PSU because the startup you wanted didn't happen, or joined a startup where your degree became irrelevant - this role is built for you.

You will be paired one-to-one with a business development lead in the United States, and together you will own the growth of a category or a region. They own the customer and the number. You own everything that has to happen at our end for that number to land - and you will build your own pipeline alongside it. This is the entry point into international business at Scimplify, and it is designed as a grooming track. Your first two years are spent learning our chemistry, our plants, our customers and our markets. If you're good, you're running a category or a region within five.

Key Responsibilities

● Own the India side of a US-facing category or region. Partner with a US business development lead as their counterpart at headquarters, jointly accountable for regional or category growth.
● Drive commercial execution. Own quotation turnaround, sample cycles, technical response times, and order-to-delivery visibility for your accounts. ● Orchestrate across functions. Work with R&D, supply, quality, logistics, finance and business intelligence to unblock customer commitments.
● Build the data layer. Own pricing logic, specifications, lead times, manufacturing partner capability and competitive intelligence for your scope.
● Grow the portfolio. Research adjacent products, applications and customer segments in your category. Bring us opportunities we haven't seen.
● Travel. Visit customers and manufacturing partners. Spend time on shop floors, not only on calls.

Qualifications

● B.Tech/M.Sc in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Science & Technology, Chemistry, Polymer Engineering, Mining Engineering, Mineral Engineering, Materials Science, Pharma, Biotechnology or a related discipline.
● From ICT Mumbai, IITs, NITs, BITS or an institution of comparable standard.
● 1- 3 years of work experience in any industry. A chemicals or metals background is welcome but not required. ● Genuine commercial interest. This is not an analyst role - you will be in front of customers and plant owners.
● Comfort with ambiguity, and the willingness to build a process where none exists.

What We Are

Actually Screening For Three things, in this order. The order matters more than the list. Integrity, first. You'll be quoting prices, committing to delivery dates, and telling a customer what a plant can do when they have no way to verify it. Every one of those is a chance to say something convenient instead of something true. We would rather lose the order. This is not a value we put on a wall - it's the one thing we won't coach you through, because in a business built on other people's trust in our chemistry, it's the only thing we're really selling. Energy, second. Nobody is going to hand you a pipeline, a process or a playbook. There isn't one yet. We want the person who, given an unfamiliar molecule and a market they've never sold into, starts making calls rather than asking for a template. Energy is not hours worked - it's the instinct to go find out. Intelligence, third, and deliberately last. You've already cleared one of the hardest entrance exams in the world; we're not going to re-test it. What we care about is whether you can reason from first principles about a customer's problem, and whether you change your mind when the data says you should. Beyond those three: commercial temperament, not grades. Curiosity about customers. And evidence that you have taught yourself something outside your degree and then actually used it for something. The order is deliberate. Energy without integrity is dangerous. Intelligence without energy is inert. And integrity, on its own, we can work with.
