Mission
The North America Industry Affairs Manager will be responsible for delivering clear and consistent communications on the company’s corporate business priorities and sustainability actions in alignment with our Corporate Twentyby30 program. This role will focus on translating sustainability commitments into compelling internal and external communications, and in particular produce the Sustainability report in coordination with the Sustainability Reporting team, and other reporting / communication documents as necessary.
In parallel, the role will support North America–focused industry affairs efforts, participating in industry advocacy that support the growth and circularity of aluminum beverage cans, the expansion of food cans, and other Crown & Signode products across North America.
The Manager will engage with key regional stakeholders and drive initiatives that promote metal as a preferred, sustainable packaging solution in the North American market. The Corporate Communications & North America Industry Affairs Manager will also be responsible for coordinating Corporate Social Engagement activities, including for example the management of the company’s charity giving program and the planning and facilitation of key engagement events such as World Environment Day and other sustainability‑focused events.
Additionally, the Manager will provide legislative insight and support to internal stakeholders (including business VPs, Key Account Directors and procurement teams) and will monitor and anticipate policy and market trends that may impact Crown's business, products and corporate reputation in North America.
The role requires a thorough understanding of North American packaging legislation, circular economy principles, and public affairs, as well as the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with Crown Industry associations (CMI, CHPR) and other associations we are in contact with (Aluminum Association, American Beverage, BIER, etc.) government bodies, and non-government organizations (NGOs) across the US and Canada.
Main activities
1. Corporate & Sustainability Communication
- Develop and deliver internal and external corporate communications aligned with business priorities (annual report, crown news) and the Corporate Twentyby30 sustainability program, in particular deliver or support development of sustainability documentation such as the annual Sustainability Report and other ad-hoc sustainability documentation (Climate Transition Plan, Climate or Nature-related Financial Disclosures etc)
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications teams to develop internal and public-facing communication and marketing materials.
- Ensure alignment and consistency of corporate messaging across internal stakeholders and external platforms including our corporate website for example,
2. North America Industry Affairs
- Participate in North America Trade associations and Industry Alliances to proactively support the development of position papers and policy briefings related to aluminum beverage cans, food cans, and other Crown & Signode products,
- Monitor in collaboration with the Public Affairs Manager (EMEA and Global Coordination) all legislative developments across the US and Canada impacting packaging, circular economy, packaging waste policies and anticipate policy and market trends that could impact the company’s business, products, and corporate reputation in North America,
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry associations, government agencies, and non‑governmental organizations (NGOs) in North America.
- Provide legislative and policy guidance to internal stakeholders, including Business VPs, Key Account Directors, and Procurement teams
3. Corporate Social & Employee Engagement Activities
- Coordinate Corporate Social Engagement activities, including management of the company’s Charitable Giving program or other programs,
- Plan and facilitate employee and external engagement initiatives, including World Environment Day, World Water Day and other sustainability‑focused events,

Education

Background
At least 5 years of professional experience in Communications and/or Public Affairs. Good understanding of packaging-related business and policy topics. Previous experience within FMCG companies, US institutions or consultancies is a plus.
