Brief:
The Manufacturing Manager (Mechanisation and R&D) will oversee mechanization, maintenance, and factory expansion projects. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and experienced mechanical engineer with a background in implementing new technologies, managing maintenance operations, and leading facility expansion projects in a fast-paced startup.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities for automation and mechanization to improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Evaluate, select, and implement new machinery and equipment for new product lines and process improvements.
- Optimize existing production processes through mechanical upgrades and automation.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to equipment operation and maintenance.
- Lead and manage the maintenance team to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all production equipment and facilities.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment lifespan.
- Oversee the repair and troubleshooting of equipment malfunctions.
- Manage maintenance budgets and ensure cost-effective maintenance practices.
- Participate in the planning and execution of new factory expansion projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, procurement, construction) to ensure timely and successful project completion.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of new equipment and production lines.
- Ensure that new facilities and processes comply with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institution like IIT or NIT is mandatory.
- 6-7 years of relevant experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Willing to travel between the other factory locations and HO (Sira and Bengaluru) as and when needed.
- Proven experience in mechanization, new machine implementation, and maintenance management.
- Experience with new factory expansion projects is highly desirable.
- Good knowledge of food safety regulations, quality standards, and manufacturing best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
- Experience working in a startup is a plus.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles is an added advantage.
