As an established industry leader, Castle Hill Gaming is committed to delivering high-quality, engaging gaming experiences while maintaining a strong focus on innovation, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.

This is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing company with a strong market presence and a vibrant, collaborative culture. If you're ready to help create cutting-edge gaming solutions and be a part of the future of casino entertainment, we’d love to hear from you.

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated, highly skilled, detail-oriented Game Math Designer with a strong mathematical and statistical background to join our game development team. In this role, you will research, design, and optimize the mathematical models behind our casino games ensuring they are engaging, profitable, and compliant with regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, enjoys problem-solving, and can communicate mathematical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences while working collaboratively with artists, designers and developers.

You will work in a fast-paced, on-site environment, having great impact on new game design and player experience. Our company values quality and individual accountability, and we deeply respect designers who take immense pride in crafting innovative games that captivate players.

Key Responsibilities

  • Slot Game Modeling: Calculate and build core math models for assigned games, including Return to Player (RTP) percentages, hit frequencies, and game play profiles.
  • Iterative Tuning: Iterate on game math throughout development, tuning parameters based on playtests, internal feedback, and early performance data while keeping RTP targets intact.
  • Innovation Design: Design and implement slot game mechanics, bonus rounds, free spins, and overall game feel, verifying accuracy through combinatorial analysis and theoretical calculations.
  • Collaboration & Communication: A collaborative team player who communicates technical design concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences—from artists to developers—while proactively asking questions and learning in a technical environment.
  • Simulations: Build, run, and refine custom simulations (using Python, C#, C++, or equivalent) to validate math models, and gather performance statistics.
  • Regulatory Submissions: Support regulatory compliance by preparing mathematical documentation and responding to technical questions raised during internal testing or jurisdictional certification.
  • Market Research: Study competitor titles and market trends to analyze their mathematical structures, sharing creative yet analytical insights to help brainstorm next-generation game concepts.

Basic Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience: 0–3 years of experience. Entry-level candidates and recent graduates with relevant gaming projects are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and technical troubleshooting skills. Highly organized, proactive learner with the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Technical Skills: Strong Excel (or similar spreadsheet) skills for building, fine-tuning, and balancing math models. Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting environment (such as Python, C#, C++, or equivalent) to handle automated simulations, prototypes, and data validation.
  • Mathematics: Strong understanding of applied mathematics, combinatorics, and probability theory with demonstrable skill in mathematical modeling for game design.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Domain Passion: A demonstrated interest in slot machines, casino games, or table games (blackjack, poker, baccarat) through personal projects, hobbyist game design, or academic work.
  • Industry Experience: Prior experience in the casino or video game industry (land-based or online), or completion of relevant gaming internships.
  • Randomness Modeling: Experience designing, modeling, or simulating systems with stochastic elements (e.g., casino math, trading models, or algorithmic simulations).
  • Advanced Analytics: Knowledge of player behavior modeling, player lifetime value (LTV) estimation, or exposure to machine learning techniques for game optimization.
  • Regulatory Awareness: Familiarity with global gaming compliance standards and testing labs (e.g., GLI, BMM).

 What You’ll Gain

  • Practical experience applying mathematics to real-world game design
  • Exposure to probability-driven gaming models and simulations
  • Mentorship from experienced developers and mathematicians
  • Opportunity to be a key contributor to game development projects
