Job Summary

 

Job Title: Mechanic 

 

S.A. Comunale is seeking a Mechanic to oversee all aspects of the repair and maintenance on Company forklifts, scissor lifts, and vehicles.  A Mechanic is able to diagnose and accurately correct issues pertaining to the Company equipment. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Diagnose issues with various types of equipment (scissor lifts, light and heavy-duty trucks, off road equipment, forklifts, construction equipment, boom lifts and vehicles).
  • Make proper repairs to equipment as needed:
    • Replacing spindles
    • Replacing batteries (80-100lbs)
    • Replacing electric motors (35-65lbs)
    • Diagnosing electrical problems
    • Rebuilding control boxes
    • Replacing drive motors (35-65lbs)
    • Making hydraulic hoses
    • Pulling and replacing tires (10-100+lbs) – bar available for heavier tires
    • Pulling deck extensions – 2 man
    • Replacing deck and lift baskets – 2 man
    • Pulling hydraulic cylinders (10-100lbs)
    • Wiring
  • Make recommendations regarding the state of the equipment.
  • Maintaining equipment:
    • Oil changes
    • Check fluid levels
    • Steam cleaning
  • Completion of weekly and annual lift inspections.
  • Receive/check in parts.
  • Seasonal snow removal.
  • Housekeeping duties.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 5+ years experience servicing forklifts, scissor lifts, and other shop equipment/vehicles is required.
  • 5+ years experience working with hydraulics and/or electrical circuitry is required.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Current lift certifications in JLG Training, Sky Jack, and Genie are a plus.
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required.
  • Class A CDL is a plus.
