About this role

About Hilton Mechanical

Hilton Mechanical is a full-service mechanical contractor operating out of three Georgia locations. Our work spans weld-pipe fabrication, hydro skid fabrication, structural welding, copper brazing, plastic fusion piping (HDPE, PP-R/PP-RCT, Aquatherm, Niron), and on-site piping installation for industrial and commercial clients. We build what we design — our fabrication shop and field crews are in the same company, which means the engineering you do here gets built, not shelved.

The Role

We're hiring a Mechanical Engineer to support design, detailing, and coordination across our fabrication and field operations. You'll model piping systems, develop skid and equipment packages, produce fabrication and installation drawings, and work directly with project managers, shop leads, and foremen to make sure what leaves the shop fits and functions in the field.

This is an in-office position.

Submit your resume and, if available, a brief portfolio or samples of design work (redacted as needed).

Hilton Mechanical Contractors is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.

What You'll Do

  • Design and model industrial piping, hydronic, and process systems in Revit, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks
  • Produce fabrication drawings, spool sheets, and isometrics for the shop
  • Design hydro skids and equipment packages, including layout, supports, and component selection
  • Perform pipe sizing, pressure drop, pump selection, and thermal expansion calculations for hydronic and process systems
  • Coordinate models with architects, structural engineers, and other trades to resolve clashes before installation
  • Develop equipment and material submittals; support procurement with specifications and takeoffs
  • Review drawings and specs for constructability, code compliance, and cost impact
  • Provide technical support to field crews during installation, including RFIs and field change resolution
  • Maintain drawing standards, templates, and model content libraries
  • Support as-built documentation and project closeout

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical design, mechanical contracting, or a fabrication environment
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, Revit, and AutoCAD
  • Working knowledge of industrial piping systems and hydronic systems — materials, sizing, supports, joining methods, and installation practices
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, P&IDs, and equipment submittals
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (IMC, IPC, ASME B31.1/B31.3, NFPA as applicable)
  • Strong communication skills — you'll be talking to fabricators and foremen as often as to engineers
  • Authorized to work in the United States; must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen

Nice to Have

  • Experience with skid or modular assembly design
  • Familiarity with plastic fusion piping systems (HDPE, PP-R/PP-RCT, Aquatherm, Niron)
  • Navisworks or other clash detection experience
  • BIM coordination on commercial or industrial construction projects
  • Experience in mechanical estimating
  • EIT/FE certification or progress toward PE licensure
  • Experience with pipe fabrication software (e.g., Victaulic Tools for Revit, eVolve, Stratus)
  • Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications
  • Consistent overtime opportunities
  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • Paid holidays and PTO
  • 401(k)
  • Steady work with a growing company
