Medical Scheduler Per Diem

Overview

University Radiology, the largest provider of subspecialty radiology and teleradiology services in NJ, is comprised of over 200 Board Certified radiologists with advanced U.S.-based training and expertise in all modalities and all subspecialty areas. In operation for more than 60 years, University Radiology staffs, manages and provides preliminary and final subspecialty interpretations and consultative support for hospitals, imaging centers and other medical facilities, and serves as the academic radiology faculty at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Our physicians interpret over 2.1 million radiology procedures per year.

Responsibilities

University Radiology is looking for a Per Diem Medical Scheduler for our East Brunswick, NJ Business Office.

• Answers a high volume of calls, working towards the goal of 9-10 calls per hour in a professional and courteous manner.• Able to schedule appointments for all modalities; Schedules and reschedules for all imaging offices, making every effort to keep the workload even between all locations.• Makes sure the supporting signs and symptoms match the ordered exam. Refers to an office tech for assistance if needed.• Makes certain that the patient understands the necessary preparations and informs him of the need for any necessary lab tests; confirms with the caller the office location/address they are scheduled at.• Obtains current insurance information and is familiar with the requirements of different insurance companies. Makes the patient aware of the potential need for referrals and/or pre-certification.• Keeps informed about the changing requirements of insurance companies. Able to navigate the Insurance Matrix to determine which plans we participate with.

• Documents the patients record with notes supporting the conversation during the call

Qualifications

• Knowledge of simple anatomy (e.g. abdomen, forearm, lungs)• Knowledge of insurances and precertification requirements • Strong organizational and communication skills• Able to work independently in a high call volume and fast paced work environment• Team player who can contribute to providing a professional and positive work environment
