Make your mark:

  • Lead the brand-aligned Medical team (in-house and in-field) and ensure its compliance to corporate requirements and processes on medical activities
  • Drive Medical Strategy for the Brand within the Brand Team and integrate it into the Brand Plan
  • Oversee Medical activities within the Brand Team, according to local resources and regulations
  • Provide strategic input to pipeline assessments, and ensures crossfunctionally and strategically aligned pre-launch and launch activities
  • Present medical strategy and tactics at business reviews
  • Develop consolidated budgets for Medical activities
  • Play an active part within Brand Teams and identify opportunities to work collaboratively with cross-functional colleagues to deliver on brand objectives
  • Ensure flow of Brand Team Communication to direct reports
  • Drive the prospective real world evidence generation , oversee investigator initiated studies at affiliate level and ensure alignment with evidence strategy to close prioritized important gaps
  • Explore with other affiliates opportunities for international collaborative studies
  • Lead the planning of medical educational activities to improve standard of care, optimizing HCP knowledge for a better patient care
  • Foster a digital mindset/digital transformation of the team
  • Oversee market access support
  • Understand AbbVie in-licensing opportunities for early phase/discovery products with academic centers
  • Review and release of marketing/trade press/patient relation/regulatory materials
  • Responsible for internal reporting regarding the pharmacovigilance of AbbVie products

  • Ability to manage and work closely within a team in a matrix organisation, and in particular with a commercial team and with in-field personnel from other functions
  • Ability to deal with conflicting interests within a multi-functional team and the leadership skills to bring these interests together towards a common goal
  • Ability to communicate formally and informally with top KOLs and other healthcare organisations
  • Ability to deliver high quality presentations both independently and as part of a team when incorporating technical data for external communication
  • Ability to lead a field-based team effectively and efficiently

Education / Knowledge

  • Degree as an MD, PhD, PharmD or comparable scientific qualification
  • Medical/scientific background ideally in therapeutic area
  • Understanding of the needs and agendas of leading medical specialists in the relevant therapy area
  • Excellent knowledge of English and of the local language
  • Basic familiarity with principles of financial management
  • Working understanding of statistical research methods
  • Advanced knowledge & experience of Project Management

Experience

  • Scientific background in Hematology/Oncology
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceuticals industry
  • Experience of working in a complex matrix organisation
  • Minimum two years’ experience of managing a team
  • Experience of working in an in-field, stakeholder-/ customer-facing role preferred
