Responsibilities
Support daily metallurgical and process control activities within assigned production areas
Investigate and resolve quality and process issues using root cause analysis and statistical methods
Monitor and improve product characteristics including gauge control, surface quality, flatness, and mechanical properties
Assist in developing and optimizing processes, procedures, and equipment performance
Conduct trials, experiments, and data analysis to support product development, process improvements and cost reduction initiatives
Ensure compliance with quality systems, procedures, and product/process controls
Collaborate with operators, maintenance, and support staff to implement sustainable solutions
Participate in continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives
Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations
Provide on-floor coaching and technical guidance to operations teams
Support operations during off-shift hours or weekends as required in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution
1-2 year of related experience or relevant internship/co-op experience
Preferred
Quality systems exposure (IATF 16949 or AS9100 preferred)
Experience or internships in metals, aluminum, or heavy manufacturing environments preferred
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively on the production floor and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
