Overview
​PURPOSE STATEMENT:Â
​Responsible for the coordination and supervision of patient milieu staff for all elements of direct patient care during work shift. Â
Responsibilities
​ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Â
- ​Monitor shift change activities to assign staff, review staffing for the units and adjusts as necessary.Â
- ​Facilitate and monitor patient care and programming.Â
- ​Review medical records for timely documentation as required.Â
- ​Facilitate the individual admission and discharge processes, as well as patient transfers.Â
- ​Review and monitor required paperwork for completion and timeliness requirements.Â
- ​Facilitate person-centered planning process with individuals to assess and develop plans based on their needs.Â
- ​Train and mentor direct care staff during the shift as necessary, or as assigned by the Milieu Manager.Â
- ​Audit individual records to ensure regulatory requirements are met. Report issues to supervisor as necessary regarding compliance.Â
- ​Respond to individual, family and guardians regarding concerns.Â
- ​Report pertinent information to the Milieu Manager in a timely manner.Â
- ​Perform direct care duties as required.Â
- ​Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always.  When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints.  Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.Â
​OTHER FUNCTIONS: Â
- ​Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.Â
Qualifications
​EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:Â
- ​High school diploma or equivalent with four or more years’ experience in a behavioral health environment required; ORÂ
- ​Associates Degree in a human service field with two or more years’ experience in a behavioral health environment required.Â
- ​Two or more years’ experience with the population of the facility preferred. ​Â

​LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS: Â
- ​CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).Â
- ​First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.Â
