About the role

We are seeking a Consultant, Supply Chain Design & Modeling to join our growing Supply Chain Design practice.

This is a hands-on consulting role for someone with approximately 5–8 years of experience in supply chain analytics, network design, optimization, logistics, or consulting. You will help clients make better strategic decisions by translating complex data into clear insights and practical recommendations.

You will work closely with project managers, senior consultants, and client stakeholders on projects involving network strategy, facility location, transportation flows, inventory, capacity, and cost optimization.

The ideal candidate is analytical, curious, comfortable working with data and modeling tools, and able to communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences.


Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Modeling and Analysis

  • Build, develop, and maintain supply chain models to evaluate current and future-state scenarios.
  • Analyze distribution networks, transportation flows, inventory, capacity, facility locations, and operating costs.
  • Structure, cleanse, validate, and interpret large data sets used in supply chain models.
  • Conduct scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and cost-benefit assessments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service, cost, resilience, and operational performance.

Consulting Project Delivery

  • Support the delivery of supply chain strategy and network design engagements from data collection through final recommendations.
  • Participate in client interviews, workshops, and working sessions to understand business objectives and operational challenges.
  • Translate analytical and modeling results into clear business insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Develop client-ready presentations, reports, analyses, and supporting documentation.
  • Work with project managers and senior team members to manage deliverables, timelines, and project quality.

Client and Team Collaboration

  • Build effective working relationships with client stakeholders and internal project teams.
  • Explain modeling assumptions, methodologies, and results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Contribute to solution development and help facilitate alignment around recommended strategies.
  • Support implementation planning by connecting strategic recommendations to practical business requirements.

Practice Development

  • Contribute to the development of Miebach’s modeling tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Share knowledge and lessons learned with colleagues across the Supply Chain Design practice.
  • Continue developing consulting, analytical, and industry expertise through formal training and project experience.


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related field.

Experience

  • Approximately 5–8 years of relevant professional experience in supply chain consulting, network design, logistics, operations research, supply chain analytics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working with supply chain data, analytical models, or optimization tools.
  • Experience delivering analyses or recommendations in a consulting, client-facing, or cross-functional business environment.
  • Experience with facility location, transportation, inventory, capacity planning, or network strategy is strongly preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Experience with supply chain design or optimization platforms such as Coupa Supply Chain Design/LLamasoft, AIMMS, Optilogic, or similar tools.
  • Strong Excel skills, including the ability to analyze and structure complex data sets.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, R, or other analytical programming languages is an asset.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Ability to understand, document, and communicate modeling assumptions and results.

  • Ability to present complex analyses in a simple, business-oriented way.

  • Willingness to travel approximately 30%, depending on project requirements.
