HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Job Summary: Device Tech for Heart Rhythm Clinic 

  • Supports electrophysiology (EP) providers; manages, monitors, and documents cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) (e.g., pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICD), and loop recorders).

  • Demonstrates an understanding of diversity.

  • Enhances and contributes to a safe environment for all colleagues, visitors, and patients.

  • Interrogates devices, reviews results, and escalates anomalies.

  • Documents device checks and assigns results to providers.

  • Ensures services are billed correctly.

  • Provides information to patients, assists in troubleshooting, and coordinates follow-up.

  • Maintains device functionality and coordinates vendor troubleshooting.

  • Adheres to applicable regulations and participates in quality improvement efforts.

  • Performs miscellaneous duties.

Reports To: 

  • MS [Medicus Select]/Practice Administrator I (job code (JC): 821001), II (JC: 8211101), III (JC: 821201); or MS/Operations Manager (JC: 820601)

Supervises: 
  • None

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., certificate of high school equivalency)

Preferred Education:

  • Associate degree (or certification) in cardiovascular technology from an accredited program. 

Required Experience: 

  • Two (2) years of relevant, job-related work experience

Preferred Experience:

  • Two (2) years of cardiac device monitoring, cardiology, or EP clinic experience. 
  • Experience with Epic electronic medical records (EMR) and remote monitoring systems. 
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and multiple vendor platforms. 
  • Effective communication skills with providers, staff members, and patients. 
  • Ability to interpret technical device data and recognize abnormalities. 
  • Ability to manage high-volume workflows and prioritize tasks. 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and billing workflows.

Required Certification/License/Registry:  

  • Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) credential (or ability to obtain the same) from the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA) recognized instructor.
