Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a National Resident RN, you will embark on an immersive and supportive journey to launch your professional nursing career, gaining invaluable hands-on experience and specialized training within a nationally recognized residency program. You will be instrumental in delivering direct patient care, developing essential clinical skills, and contributing to positive patient outcomes under the guidance of experienced nursing leaders and preceptors. Every day you will apply foundational nursing knowledge to assess patient conditions, administer medications, perform vital clinical procedures, and meticulously document patient care, always prioritizing safety and therapeutic communication. You will actively participate in interdisciplinary rounds, continuing education sessions, and simulation training, building your clinical judgment and critical thinking skills in diverse patient care settings. To be successful in this foundational role, you will leverage your academic preparation and an eager willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within a structured residency framework. You will engage proactively with your preceptors and mentors, seeking feedback and applying new knowledge to real-world patient scenarios.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing; zero to twelve (0-12) months of professional nursing (RN) experience
  • Active License as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State in which s/he will be practicing or the state of primary residency if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state
  • BLS certification - American Heart Association
  • Additional certifications may be required based on population(s) served and services provided
  • Ability to:
    • Deliver excellence in patient care through assessing, formulating nursing diagnoses and establishing goals, planning and implementing intervention, and evaluating patient care outcomes
    • Read, analyze, and interpret hospital policies and procedures, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
    • Write reports and procedures, and document in the medical record
    • Effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers, managers, patients, physicians, family members and the general public
    • Calculate figures and amounts such as weights, dosages, flow rates, proportions, percentages and volume
    • Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
    • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
    • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
    • Critically think and problem solve
    • Read, write and speak English
    • Must meet the requirements of the year long program, including preparation work and class attendance
    • Must remain in a full-time position for the entirety of the year long program
    • Must be able to work and train on either night or day shifts including holidays
    • Must agree to terms and conditions of the program
