Night Operations Staff

THE ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Night Operations team at Hotel La Neige. As a Night Operation Staff member, you will help ensure the smooth operation of the hotel during overnight hours by providing exceptional guest service while the hotel operates outside of regular business hours. You will assist guests with late-night inquiries and check-ins, respond to emergency requests, complete overnight administrative and operational tasks, and help maintain the safety, cleanliness, and presentation of the property. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and remain calm and professional while working overnight in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

NIGHT OPERATIONS STAFF DUTIES

1. Reception Administration: Complete overnight administrative tasks including report generation, document printing, guest profile updates, audits, and logging purchase receipts.
2. Late Night Guest Services: Conduct late-night check-ins, assist guests with requests, and provide a welcoming and professional arrival experience.
3. Emergency Response: Hold the on-call emergency phone for Hotel La Neige and respond promptly and professionally to guest emergencies or urgent requests.
4. Property Presentation: Carry out light housekeeping duties including vacuuming public areas such as the lobby, restaurant, and staff room to maintain cleanliness and presentation.
5. Vehicle Care: Clean and maintain company vehicles, ensuring they are presentable and operational for daily use.
6. Snow Clearing: Remove snow from hotel entrances, walkways, and company vehicles to maintain safe access during winter conditions.
7. Record Keeping: Accurately record purchase receipts and maintain organized documentation for administrative purposes.
8. General Support: Assist reception and driver teams with additional shifts or operational duties when required.
   
   

WHAT YOU NEED

• Legal right to live and work in Japan (typically via a Working Holiday Visa)
• Previous experience in hospitality, guest services, reception, or night audit preferred
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong communication skills and a professional telephone manner
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Confidence handling emergency situations calmly and efficiently
• Basic computer skills and experience using hotel management systems is an advantage
• Ability to perform light physical duties including cleaning and snow clearing
• Valid driver's licence preferred
• English and Japanese fluency
• Flexibility to work overnight shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• Ability to commit to the full Winter Season period or available for a year-round position

NIGHT GUEST SERVICE SHIFTS

Night Guest Service Agents typically work 10:00pm – 7:00am, alternating 3 or 4 shifts per week, averaging approximately 40 hours per week. Additional hours may be available through reception or driver support shifts depending on operational requirements.

ACCOMMODATION

HHG provides staff accommodation in central Hakuba (mainly in Happo Village, Wadano, and Kamishiro). Options include shared, dormitory, or private rooms depending on your role.
