Job Description:

Occupational Health Nurse

Location: Wrexham, North Wales
Contract: Permanent
Working Pattern: 4 days per week (Part-Time)
Reports to: EHS & Occupational Health Manager

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Occupational Health Nurse to join our Occupational Health team in Wrexham on a permanent, part-time basis (4 days per week).

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Occupational Health professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment while also having the autonomy to manage a varied caseload. You will play a key role in supporting employee health, wellbeing and fitness for work, helping to create a safe, healthy and productive workplace.

About the Role

As an Occupational Health Nurse, you will be a trusted source of expert advice and support for employees, managers and HR colleagues. Working as part of the on-site Occupational Health team, you will deliver a high-quality occupational health service that supports both individual wellbeing and organisational objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a caseload and providing specialist occupational health advice
  • Conducting pre-employment assessments, onboarding medicals and health surveillance programmes
  • Supporting employees and managers with sickness absence management, workplace adjustments and return-to-work plans
  • Delivering mental health support, early intervention and signposting to appropriate resources
  • Responding to workplace injuries and providing immediate clinical assessment where required
  • Preparing professional occupational health reports and recommendations
  • Coordinating referrals to Occupational Health Physicians and other external providers
  • Supporting site wellbeing initiatives and health promotion activities
  • Coordinating the annual flu vaccination programme
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential health records in line with professional and legal standards
  • Building strong working relationships with managers, HR, EHS teams and employees across the site

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
  • Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health
  • Minimum of 2 years' post-registration nursing experience
  • Experience working within an Occupational Health setting
  • Competence in health surveillance activities including:
    • Spirometry
    • Audiometry
    • Vision screening
  • Experience conducting fitness-for-work assessments
  • Knowledge of sickness absence management and workplace adjustments
  • Understanding of workplace health risks, including mental health and occupational exposures
  • Strong organisational, communication and record-keeping skills
  • Competent IT skills

Desirable

  • Experience delivering wellbeing or health promotion programmes
  • Experience supporting workplace vaccination programmes
