Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an Occupational Therapist, you will help patients regain independence and quality of life so they can safely perform daily activities.Every day you will assess diverse patients (orthopedic, neurological, sensory, cancer recovery, etc.), develop treatment plans, and conduct evaluations/re-evaluations. You will be expected to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, document thoroughly, and provide positive, motivating care to a high volume of patients.To be successful in this role, you must be flexible, adaptable, exceptionally organized, and a personable, motivating team player.

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations by reviewing medical records, obtaining patient history, administering standardized assessments, and developing individualized plans of care based on patient needs and goals.
  • Implement, modify, and monitor therapeutic treatment plans using evidence-based practices and a variety of interventions, including activities of daily living, mobility training, strengthening, range of motion, cognitive rehabilitation, family education, home assessments, and adaptive equipment recommendations.
  • Regularly assess patient progress, clinical signs, and treatment effectiveness, adjusting goals, interventions, and care plans as needed to maximize functional outcomes and ensure adherence to established standards of practice.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment goals, therapeutic techniques, safety strategies, and discharge planning to support continued progress and independence.
  • Complete accurate, timely, and thorough documentation of evaluations, treatments, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with clinical, hospital, regulatory, and departmental standards; participate in chart reviews and quality improvement activities.
  • Demonstrate cultural competence and effective communication while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and provide guidance, supervision, and performance feedback to staff, students, volunteers, and therapy aides as assigned.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Occupational Therapy and completion of Clinical Fieldwork and at least three (3) months prior experience in physical disabilities and a broad base of medical surgical knowledge, with case experience with the following: neurological impairments, orthopedic impairments, and critical care that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities. , upon hire and
  • Injured worker rehab program: Two (2) years full-time experience within last five years, with caseload emphasis on physical disabilities, especially treatment of the subacute injured workers with return to work needs (i.e., Physical Capacity Evaluation, Work Conditioning). and
  • Lymphedema OT: Two (2) years full-time experience within last five years recommended, with caseload emphasis acute physical disabilities, especially in the treatment of lymphedema. and
  • Lead: minimum of two years of clinical occupational therapy experience in the direct delivery of patient care
  • Occupational Therapist: WA, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Preferred

  • Pain management program: Two (2) years full-time experience within last five years, with caseload emphasis on physical disabilities, injured worker care, or pain managementΒ
