Oko West Project- Site Services Sewage Tank Operator

In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN has acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.

To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of:

Sewage Truck Operator 

A sewage tank truck operator drives and manages specialized vacuum trucks to pump, haul, and empty wastewater, sewage, and sludge from residential, commercial, or industrial tanks. They ensure safe waste disposal at approved facilities while following environmental and traffic rules

Key Responsibilities 

• Safely run vacuum trucks and pumps to extract and clear liquid waste.
• Daily service and cleaning of portable toilet units in the field.
• Connect, uncoil, and store heavy suction hoses and attachments.
• Check tank conditions and look for leaks or blockages.
• Haul waste to authorized treatment or disposal sites.
• Run pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks and clean equipment.
• Log mileage, hours, and service disposal receipts.
• Speak with clients to explain work and offer system care tips.
• Ensure all waste is disposed of at approved facilities.
• Follow all company and country safety guidelines to prevent spills, contamination, or accidents.
• Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting for the septic truck and related equipment when necessary.
• Be available for on-call or emergency septic services, as needed
• Maintain and verify spill kits are fully always stocked and accessible on the sewage truck — absorbent pads, booms, containment bags, and cleanup tools.

Qualifications/Skills and Experience

• 2 to 5 years of general driving or commercial truck operation experience.

• Physically fit for the demands of the role including hose handling and outdoor work in tropical conditions.

• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills

• Clean driving record with no major incidents involving hazardous materials.
• Good communication skills for coordination by radio with supervisors and field team.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, such as septic tanks.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Comfortable with standing, walking, kneeling, and bending for extended periods.
• Ability to work in various outdoor conditions including heat, dry, dusty, inclement weather and confined spaces
  

Working Conditions

• Position based at the OKO Project site. 
• Work Schedule – 14 days on/7days Off
