Job Description

  • Play a pivotal role in strengthening safety, compliance and operational excellence across Jetstar Operations Delivery.
  • Influence business outcomes through continuous improvement, innovation and operational performance initiatives.
  • Hybrid role based at Jetstar Head Office in Docklands | 15-month fixed-term opportunity.

Join the Jetstar team at a pivotal moment in our history as we embark on a new era of low fares travel. As we emerge from the pandemic, the outlook for our domestic and international flying is very strong and our teams are excited to welcome our new A321LR Neo’s as we continue on our mission to offer all day, every day low fares so more people can fly to more places, more often.

As the Operations Performance & Compliance Manager, you'll play a critical role in shaping the safety, governance and performance framework that supports one of Jetstar's most operationally critical functions. Sitting at the intersection of compliance, risk management, operational performance and continuous improvement, you'll help ensure our teams meet regulatory obligations while driving smarter, more effective ways of working.

This is far more than an audit and compliance role. You'll be a trusted advisor to leaders across Operations Delivery, influencing business outcomes, leading audits and safety initiatives, and helping shape the future direction of operational performance across Jetstar. You'll have the opportunity to challenge the status quo, drive meaningful change, build strong partnerships across Jetstar and the Qantas Group, and represent Operations Delivery through occasional domestic and international travel supporting audits, stakeholder engagement and compliance initiatives.

The core responsibilities of this role will be:

  • Lead and manage compliance, governance and safety management activities across Operations Delivery.
  • Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring regulatory and organisational requirements are met.
  • Facilitate safety forums, governance meetings and stakeholder discussions, providing clear recommendations and driving accountability.
  • Partner with leaders across Jetstar and Qantas Group to manage risk, improve performance and strengthen compliance outcomes.
  • Deliver meaningful reporting and insights that support business decision-making and operational improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency and leverage technology to enhance operational outcomes.
  • Build and foster a proactive safety and compliance culture across the business.
  • Act as a trusted subject matter expert on compliance, governance and operational performance matters.

To be considered, key skills will include:

  • Proven experience in safety, compliance, governance, audit or risk management environments.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with confidence facilitating meetings and presenting complex information.
  • Experience leading audits, investigations, compliance reviews or governance activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance detail and strategic thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
  • A passion for continuous improvement, innovation and finding smarter ways of working.
  • Safety-first mindset with a strong understanding of risk, compliance and regulatory requirements.

Applications close: Midnight on Sunday 23rd August 2026
