Job Description

At Syngenta, our goal is to build the most collaborative and trustworthy team in agriculture, providing top-quality seeds and innovative crop protection solutions that improve farmers' success. To support this mission, Syngenta’s Global Continuous Nursery Team is seeking a Operations Research Associate in Puerto Vallarta. This role will support on leading, executing, and supervising the corn seed processing activities, including drying, shelling, treatment and packaging. This role ensures that all processes are conducted under the highest standards of safety (HSE), quality, and efficiency, utilizing continuous improvement methodologies to optimize workflows within the process.

Accountabilities 

  • Operation & technical knowledge for seed processing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with protocols and quality standards.
  • Lead safety culture, ensuring all activities comply with local and global HSE regulations.
  • Apply lean manufacturing tools to eliminate waste and optimize the process.
  • Maintain, update, and manage all records and/or documentation required and necessary for the department’s performance indicators (KPIs).

Qualifications

Required  

  • Machinery Knowledge: Familiarity with seed processing lines, seed drying systems, color sorters, and seed treatment application systems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Basic knowledge or certification in Lean methodologies.
  • Digital Tools: Proficiency in MS Office (intermediate Excel), databases.
  • Soft Skills: Leadership capabilities, effective communication, results-oriented, and resilience.
  • Languages: Spanish / English.

Desired 

  • Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Biotechnology, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • Experience: 2 to 3 years of experience in seed processing operations, conditioning plants, or R&D processing roles.
  • Experience in agricultural or industrial processing machinery.
