We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Over the Road Truck Driver to join our team. This role involves long-distance transportation of goods across various routes, ensuring timely and safe delivery. Duties
- Operate a tractor-trailer to transport freight across long distances, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Secure cargo.
- Manage delivery schedules and maintain accurate logs of hours driven, rest periods, and cargo details.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route changes, delays, or any issues encountered during transportation.
- Maintain a clean and organized truck interior while ensuring that cargo is secured properly for transport.
- Utilize various types of trailers including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and roll-off trucks as required by the load.
Experience
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in route driving with a focus on freight delivery.
- Familiarity with operating different types of trucks including tractor-trailers and flatbeds.
- Experience in loading and unloading freight safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to commercial driving and freight handling is essential.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver is preferred but not mandatory.
