Minimum Hourly Rate:

$34.57

Job Description:

Teach American Heart Association (AHA) classes at each of the Aims Campus sites and to business and industry at locations throughout Northern Colorado. Occasional travel may be required.

Work Hours:

  • Varied work hours to include evenings and Saturdays. No monthly minimum hour requirement for this position.

Job Duties:

  • Teach CPR and First Aid classes in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) standards and guidelines.

  • Provide effective and high quality instruction in compliance with AHA standards and College requirements.

  • Instruct small group sessions to demonstrate skills and coach student skills performance in compliance with student-faculty ratios established by the AHA.

  • Follow college, department, and AHA procedures and requirements for student evaluation and grading.

  • Evaluate student performance and document student skill proficiencies. Evaluation occurs both informally through skills check-off activities and formally in skill evaluation sessions.

  • Assist the CPR Coordinator with the maintenance and coordination of CPR equipment used for instruction for both on and off campus classes.

  • Set up and tear down the classroom as needed for each class.

  • Clean the CPR equipment and replace used parts.

  • Submit the required paperwork to the Training Center Coordinator by established due dates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must obtain CPR instructor certification within (six) 6 months of hire, CPR instructor certification will be provided by Aims

  • Must have an active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching experience

  • Experience working in the healthcare or emergency services field
