Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Secure Embedded Systems department (5327) is seeking a motivated electronics engineer to support state-of-the-art printed circuit board (PCB) layout for large multi-disciplinary programs critical to national security. The successful candidate will support a team in the design, development, test, and deployment of novel embedded computing solutions. The successful candidate will have a background in, and understanding of, printed circuit board layout, test, and debug. You will work alongside world-class experts and use your skills in the following areas:

  • Layout of custom, state of the art PCBs
  • PCB test and debug
  • Team with PCB Designers, firmware, and software engineers to create embedded computing solutions.

  • Due to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance if required.

Preferred Qualifications and Location Details

  • Certified Interconnect Designer (CID) Certification
  • Certified Interconnect Designer Advanced (CID+) Certification
  • Certified Printed Circuit Designer (CPCD) certification
  • Experience with high-layer-count stack-ups (18+ copper layers)
  • Experience with PCB layout, testing, and debugging for applications involving state-of-the-art FPGAs, high speed, and large memory
  • Experience routing signals with high-speed data-rates (5+ gb/s)
  • Experience routing modern memory topologies (DDR4/5)
  • Experience with fine design features (3 mil trace & space)
  • Active DOE Q clearance
  • Contract Duration 1-2 years
  • Onsite position
