About this role

The Role

The People Advisor is a pivotal member of the Global People Team, serving as a key collaborator with both Business and Regional People Partners to drive talent strategy.

With a strong understanding of local employment legislation and company policies, the People Advisor provides guidance on performance and employment relations (ER) matters and plays a crucial role in the implementation and enhancement of key processes and initiatives in the HR calendar across the Middle East and Asia Pacific.

The People Advisor requires a proactive approach in managing upward, ensuring that the People Partner is well-informed and supported in their strategic objectives. Each People Partner may have their unique ways of working, and the People Advisor plays an integral role in shaping this relationship to ensure effective collaboration. By fostering a strong partnership, the People Advisor enables our People Strategy and is exposed to continuous development opportunities.

Responsibilities

 

  • Advise employees and managers on HR policies and processes, integrating legislative knowledge and general best practice.
  • Collaborate with People Partners on cyclical processes such as the annual performance management process, and compensation planning. This will involve managing timelines, assisting with communications, overseeing completion rates, and recommending actions to ensure smooth delivery as well as quality assurance. Manage upward to People Partners regarding these initiatives, ensuring the People Partner is focused on providing strategic input and supported with practical delivery.
  • Build relationships with key business stakeholders and enable the growth and development of team members and Talent Managers through coaching and sharing best practices on managing team members and dynamics.
  • Manage low to medium complexity ER cases from start to finish, partner with both key business stakeholders and the internal ER team to ensure compliance with legislation and internal policies.
  • Drive the annual People Engagement Survey process by managing timelines, preparing communications, overseeing completion rates, reviewing & analyzing results, and developing insights to share with People Partners and the business stakeholders.
  • Conduct follow-up interviews with departing employees, review and analyze turnover data, and develop insights to share with People Partners.
  • Act as a continuous improvement and change champion, proactively identifying opportunities to improve or implement policies, processes and ways of working that enhance our People Strategy and improve the employee experience.
  • Provide meaningful analytics to drive business improvement and seek opportunities to improve employee engagement, performance, and attrition.
  • Work collaboratively with global and regional Talent Acquisition, People Operations and Learning teams on key overlapping touchpoints to have a cohesive approach to supporting the business and a positive employee experience.
  • Support local learning and development needs through collaboration with the Global Learning team.
  • Support the planning and rollout of engagement initiatives in the region targeted at employee wellbeing and culture building.
  • Act as a strategic observer for People Partners in the region, monitoring trends, providing insightful feedback, and identifying potential risks to ensure proactive and effective HR management.

 

Requirements

  • At least 4 years’ generalist HR experience in professional services or financial services industry.
  • Experience working in matrix organisations with multiple lines of responsibility and reporting
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation across Middle East and/or APAC markets
  • Ability to work seamlessly across multiple geographies and time zones
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business management, psychology or related field preferred
  • Local CIPD qualification is highly regarded.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
