JOB SUMMARY: The
Performance Based Trainer (PBT)
is responsible for
helping develop operation and training systems that are standard throughout the plant. The individual in this role will work closely with staff at all levels of the Organization to ensure all current employees are trained on
Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s). The PBT will assist the Continuous Skills Development (CSD) Bridge and Human Resources to develop and implement onboarding training for new employees; and will assist Operations to develop and implement general and job-specific SOPs and training for production partners. The PBT will be a member of the Safety Bridge to ensure all SOPs are in compliance with personal safety.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Be a participating member of the CSD Bridge including developing and updating SOPs, element trees, training audits, standard work and GAP analyses
- Be a participating member of the Safety Bridge
- Provide train-the-trainer training and certification for OJT’s (On the job trainers)
- Stay current on SOP’s and function as the site expert
- Facilitate team meetings
- Provide on the job trouble shooting mentoring and coaching
- Annual Operator (re)certification’s
- Involved in new hire process including interviewing, candidate selection, New Employee Orientation (NEO) and onboarding
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Must be 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing/food production environment preferred
- Minimum one-year experience in some type of training role
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- A strong commitment to employee safety
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to understand and communicate work instructions in English
- Availability to work variable hours in a 24/7 facility
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL FACTORS:
- Positions require standing, repetitive movement, bending and twisting, and using hands to handle objects; exposure to sustained noise levels; exposure to a variety of food allergens; working in very hot temperatures; exposure to hazards such as machinery, slippery floors, ladders and powered industrial vehicles. May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to stand for 85-90% of shift, sometimes up to 12 hours.
- Must be able to keep a positive attitude and high level of motivation in order to ensure the highest levels of success in a constantly changing and growing business.
- Must be able to work in an environment containing allergens, such as gluten, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts and milk.
- Must be available for all shifts (24/7 production), including some weekends and holidays. Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule as needed.
