Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Plumbing Superintendent to lead and oversee all plumbing-related activities on commercial mechanical construction projects. This leadership role ensures quality workmanship, field coordination, safety, and schedule adherence for multi-million-dollar plumbing scopes on projects such as healthcare facilities, schools, office buildings, and industrial sites.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and supervise field plumbing crews, including journeymen, apprentices, and subcontractors.
Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to ensure efficient workflow.
Plan and sequence work according to project schedules, ensuring deadlines and milestones are met.
Interpret and enforce project blueprints, specifications, and code compliance.
Conduct job site inspections for quality control, safety, and productivity.
Maintain accurate field documentation including timecards, daily reports, and material tracking.
Oversee material deliveries and inventory, ensuring tools and equipment are available as needed.
Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to team members.
Resolve field issues, RFIs, and unforeseen conflicts swiftly and effectively.
Enforce OSHA and company safety standards at all times.
Qualifications
Minimum 7–10 years of plumbing experience in commercial mechanical construction.
Prior supervisory or foreman experience required.
Strong knowledge of commercial piping systems and plumbing codes.
Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings and documents.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and field management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, or equivalent).
Valid Journeyman or Master Plumber License (state-specific).
OSHA 30 certification preferred.
