About this role

An established Launceston private practice is seeking a Podiatrist to join its clinical team on a permanent basis. The role suits a clinician who values careful, evidence-based work over volume — and who wants to build a career inside a stable, well-run practice with a strong local reputation.

Full-time and part-time arrangements will be considered. New graduates and experienced clinicians are both encouraged to apply.

About the practice

Launceston has a long-established private allied health sector, and this practice is one of its more considered operators. The team is multidisciplinary, the clinical standards are high, and the environment is one where clinicians tend to stay for years rather than months.

The practice invests in its people — through onboarding, mentoring, CPD support, and the kind of infrastructure (equipment, software, admin support) that lets clinicians focus on clinical work.

The clinical scope

The caseload is broad and reflects the demographics of Northern Tasmania:

  • General biomechanical assessment and treatment
  • Routine care — nail and callus management, footwear and orthotic advice
  • Diabetic foot management and high-risk foot assessment
  • Wound care and offloading
  • Orthotic prescription, fabrication, and review
  • Paediatric and gait-related presentations
  • Preventive-health education and long-term patient management

The mix supports both generalist development and the ability to grow a clinical interest over time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Podiatry
  • General Registration with the Podiatry Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Working with Vulnerable People Check (Tas), National Police Check, and NDIS Worker Screening — or the willingness to obtain
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • A patient-first approach and a commitment to evidence-based practice

New graduates are supported through a structured mentoring program.

What is Offered

  • Competitive salary, negotiated on experience
  • Superannuation at statutory rate
  • Annual CPD allowance and dedicated study leave
  • Relocation assistance available for interstate or overseas candidates
  • Flexible rostering
  • Ongoing career development and progression pathways
