Summary

The Postal Clerk provides exceptional customer service while managing the daily operations of the Black Butte Ranch Post Office. This role is responsible for processing incoming and outgoing mail and packages, assisting owners and guests with shipping and retail needs, maintaining inventory, handling customer transactions, and ensuring accurate, organized, and timely mail distribution in compliance with postal regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Process, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and packages with accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist customers with mailing, shipping, retail purchases, and billing while delivering excellent customer service.
• Operate postal equipment, shipping software, package tracking systems, and the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Maintain inventory of postal supplies, shipping materials, stamps, and retail merchandise.
• Perform cash handling, owner and guest account billing, and daily opening and closing procedures.
• Coordinate with shipping carriers, the Sisters Post Office, and Ranch departments to ensure timely mail and package delivery.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and assist with additional administrative and business service needs as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in customer service, retail, administrative, office, or postal operations preferred.
• Experience with cash handling, POS systems, or shipping software is a plus.
• Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask, work independently, and learn new technology.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
