About the role
As a Principal Architect, you'll play a critical leadership role in shaping enterprise-wide technology strategy and driving transformation across key corporate domains, including Finance, Procurement, Property, Payroll, ERP, Group Tax, Treasury, and Sustainability.
Working as part of our Architecture team, you'll take an enterprise view of business challenges and opportunities, partnering with senior stakeholders to design future-state capabilities that enhance agility, simplify complexity, and deliver lasting business value.
What You'll Be Doing
Develop and drive architecture strategies, roadmaps, and target-state designs aligned to business priorities and enterprise objectives.
Partner with senior business leaders to co-create technology strategies that support growth, innovation, operational excellence, and long-term business outcomes.
Lead the design and evolution of enterprise capabilities across Finance, Procurement, Property, Payroll, ERP, Treasury, Tax, and Sustainability domains.
Guide large-scale technology transformation initiatives, balancing strategic goals with delivery realities, risk, cost, quality, and timelines.
Influence the simplification, modernisation, and optimisation of AGL's technology landscape while reducing technical debt.
Collaborate with Architecture Leadership and delivery teams to assess change impacts, align with architectural guardrails, and drive implementation decisions.
Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, methods, and tools to identify opportunities that create competitive advantage and business value.
What You'll Bring
Significant experience in Enterprise, Domain, Solution, or Business Architecture leadership roles within large, complex organisations.
Proven knowledge and technology experience from some of the following – Finance (preferred), Procurement, Property, Payroll, ERP, Treasury, Tax, and Sustainability domains
Demonstrated success developing architecture strategies, target states, and transformation roadmaps across multiple business domains.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior executives and business leaders.
Proven experience leading enterprise-wide transformation programs and technology modernisation initiatives.
Deep understanding of architecture frameworks, governance practices, and strategic planning methodologies.
Ability to balance long-term strategic vision with practical delivery outcomes.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex architectural concepts in clear, business-focused language.
