Private Client Tax Manager - Tax Department


Our tax team currently have 35 staff from trainees to partner level. The team look after tax affairs of the firm's private and corporate clients, covering all aspects of the UK tax system.  The work is varied and challenging, including compliance matters such as tax return preparation, and advisory projects. 


Private Client Tax Manager - Job Description



  • The role is mixed between personal tax compliance and personal tax advisory work.
  • You will be the client manager to a diverse portfolio of clients, mostly with an international flavour to their affairs, including: HNW individuals, FIG users, trust settlors and beneficiaries.
  • You will be responsible for overseeing the tax compliance services on your client portfolio, from ensuring the information is received on time, reviewing the tax return prepared by a trainee, liaising with the client as necessary, submission to HMRC, and management of WIP/Billing.
  • You will be involved in providing advisory work to your client portfolio and other clients, this will be varied and challenging, and you will work under the guidance of directors and partners to deliver exceptional client results.
  • You will have the opportunity to develop within an established private client tax team with a strong client base.
  • You will be involved with business development and marketing opportunities.




The successful candidate is someone who is a qualified accountant who has  trained in audit and developed a passion for technology and operational workflow improvement, be a great communicator and team player with a results-oriented work ethos


We would love to hear from you if you are...


  • Qualified accountant with ATT and CTA qualification, with a minimum of 3 years' post qualification experience  within a UK professional services firm
  • Good experience of working with international private clients on advisory work.
  • Strong client portfolio management skills.
  • Possess excellent IT skills, preferably with a good working knowledge of Digita.
  • Ability to support marketing initiatives for the firm, for example by identifying marketing opportunities, writing tax articles and internal technical updates
  • Ability to identify planning opportunities from existing and potential clients
  • Ability to provide internal tax technical support to partners, tax team members and other personnel
  • The ability to deal with conflicting demands
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Good analytical skills
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude
  • Self-motivation and are a good team player
  • Highly motivated and committed to delivering excellent client service
