About this role

Who We Are

Maybern is transforming the way private fund managers effectively manage their funds through cutting edge technology: an operating system with deterministic guard rails underneath, agents on top. Maybern is founded by top engineering experts with deep knowledge of the fund management space.

Private funds manage $15T in capital and are growing at 20% YoY, but with increasing regulatory scrutiny and investor demands for transparency, the need for more modern, fully agentic solutions to help private fund CFOs is crucial.

This is where Maybern comes in.

We are equipping fund managers with a fully agentic operating system for private fund management, enabling private investment managers to focus on what they do best: driving returns for their investors. We are backed by leading venture capital firms and a large number of strategic investors.

Maybern is an NYC based company with a strong in-office culture to drive collaboration, and we are looking to make strong additions to our team.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for an entrepreneurial and creative Product Designer with 2-3 years of experience designing elegant solutions to complex user problems to own design for our Core Workflows and User Engagement squads.

What You'll Do

  • Create design solutions: Partner with Product and Engineering on the Core Workflows and User Engagement squads to design features that are delightful for users and feasible to build. You'll own features and components within our data visualizations, task management, notifications, and commenting experiences.

  • Bring craft to your work: Care about the details, polish, and quality of what you ship.

  • Contribute to our design vision: Work alongside our Senior Designer to bring our visual language and interaction patterns to life, applying established patterns thoughtfully as you design new features.

  • Support discovery & research: Gather and synthesize user feedback and observed behavior to inform design decisions, working closely with senior designers on more complex research efforts.

Who You Are

  • Strategic. You build compelling business cases for design investments, connecting aesthetic and UX improvements to outcomes like retention, conversion, and customer satisfaction.

  • Collaborative. You see engineering as a true partner, not a blocker, and you build trust by understanding technical complexity and proposing solutions that respect it.

  • Curious and Creative. You are a deep listener who seeks different points of view, asks the right clarifying questions to understand the problem at hand, and thinks creatively to find the best design solutions. You’re not afraid to go deep to understand user problems in a technical domain.

  • Forward-thinking. You hold a high bar for craft and have a point of view on what “great” looks like, and you’re skilled at finding the pragmatic path to get there incrementally.

This Could Be a Great Fit If You...

  • Have 2-3 years of design experience, ideally working on a complex B2B product, and a proven ability to lead design projects from beginning to end.

  • Have a portfolio that reflects your strengths in both user experience and aesthetic design, as well as in the implementation of user testing and research throughout the design process.

  • Are AI-forward in how you work. You actively use AI tools in your design process, and you’re excited to help shape what great design looks like as AI changes how products get built.

  • Are able to plan for the long term while navigating short-term tradeoffs.

  • Collaborate well across teams. You can distill and incorporate feedback and communicate clearly.

  • You can simplify complex concepts, articulate and explain your thoughts effectively, and ask the right questions to gain deeper insights.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, often wearing multiple hats. You’re comfortable when the lines between Product and Design blur.

  • Are eager to contribute to our design foundations and work to foster a culture of design thinking throughout the business.

Benefits

  • We offer a competitive salary + equity package, comprehensive benefits, and a flexible family-friendly work environment. Some of our perks include:
