Position Description:Â
The Product Specialist will oversee and direct Product Management activities for the Specialty Ball and Plug Valve product portfolios. She/he will take ownership of the respective products and will drive specific product strategy and tactical actions.Â
The Product Specialist will be customer facing and will ensure alignment between global product strategy and market needs, will be linked to financial targets and will drive product commercialization by enhancing value proposition.Â

Responsibilities & RequirementsÂ
- Implement global product strategies and develop product roadmaps in alignment with the Global Product ManagerÂ
- Provide strategic direction and take ownership of cross-functional initiativesÂ
- Create strategic cross functional collaboration with Sales, Operations, EngineeringÂ
- Conduct Voice of Customer (VOC) and Customer product meetingsÂ
- Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; support return-on-investment analysis; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturingÂ
- Collaborate with R&D project manager and engineering leaders, ensuring deliverables completion and removing barriersÂ
- Support product commercialization of the portfolio globallyÂ
- Drive product globalization activities, including supply chain and manufacturing localization to support the global businessÂ
- Introduce and market new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, and productionÂ
- Forecast, refine and track product financials for the region and take actions to align them to the product budgetÂ
- Serve as key information source for marketing, product development, and other decision makers in the organizationÂ
- Provide information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analysis.Â
- Assess product market data:Â
- Call on customers with field sales and evaluating sales call resultsÂ
- Assess competitive landscapeÂ
- Use strategic market knowledge toolsÂ
- Support product pricing, review production volume and sales costsÂ
- Collaborate with Marketing on defining and creating all needed product literature and documentation including web site content and social media campaigns.Â
- Periodically visits (with Regional Sales) customer sites to establish and maintain relationships with key customer contacts thus maintaining a deep technical intimacy with all aspects of the product and its application.Â
- Assist in all necessary training in local region, subregion: customers, engineering, repair centers, sales force, field service etc. Coordinates with the Educational Services Group as required. Provide tactical sales support as necessary.Â
- Other duties as assigned.Â
Preferred Experience / SkillsÂ
- Product, sales, applications and/or engineering experience in a related field involving highly engineered specialty products in a global market setting.Â
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to assemble and manage cross functional teams.Â
- Good verbal and written presentation and communication skills.Â
- Expected 25-40% travel is required.Â
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering and minimum 5 years of experience ideally in Product Management, Operations, Sales or Project Management Â
