Responsibilities

The Trainer plays an imperative role in the success and development of our Production and Yard Team Associates.  We are looking for an individual who can coach, teach and mentor current and new employees in a positive manner by effectively delivering and facilitating training programs in various formats (classroom, virtual, work areas, etc) in a clear and effective manner that emphasizes safety, continuous improvement, accountability and process standardization

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Work safely and follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Practice continuous improvement and 6S, including facility housekeeping
  • Train and guide employees (new hires and existing) on proper and safe procedures in relation to standard operating guidelines within the production and yard environments
  • Champion and lead in delivering of training programs to employees
  • Support and assist in developing standard practices and training programs to increase efficiencies in delivery of various programs
  • Coach and mentor team members to achieve success on an ongoing development basis
  • Assist in evaluating and documenting learning and progression of team members

Job Skills: This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work within small groups and teams.
  • Ability to teach, coach and deliver training programs in a clear and concise manner to team members of various levels of knowledge and skill
  • Proven leadership and team building skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, ability to maintain efficiency and pace
  • Extremely strong communicator and high level of interpersonal skills, with ability to deliver training in writing and verbally in English
  • Very organized with ability to maintain high level of detail
  • Intermediate Computer knowledge and understanding with Microsoft Office

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift 25 lbs
  • Ability to physically maneuver around workstations, stand, walk, crouch and climb stairs/ladders where required
  • Able to work on feet for long periods of time
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts and rotations; including days, afternoon and nights, weekdays, and weekends
  • Ability to travel to other sites to support training efforts

Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with focus on Manufacturing related studies
  • Post-Secondary diploma/degree preferred
  • Adult learning and/or training experience an asset

Preferred Experience

  • ADS process and function knowledge
  • Machine Operation or Plastic Extrusion background
  • Manufacturing or Industrial experience, especially the ability to function in a production team environment
  • Forklift & OTR vehicle experience
  • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus
Compensation Range: $30.05-34.35/hourIndividual pay may vary and is determined by work location, shift, and factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
