About this role

Morris & Ritchie Associates, Inc. (MRA) is seeking a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join our growing team in Towson, MD. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated surveying professional looking to take ownership of projects, mentor field staff, and contribute to a wide variety of residential, commercial, and land development projects.

The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise in land surveying, proven experience managing projects and survey crews, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work and exceptional client service.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage and oversee multiple survey projects from initiation through completion.
  • Perform contract administration, project management, and client coordination.
  • Organize, supervise, and mentor survey crews and office staff.
  • Prepare and review plats, legal descriptions, record plats, easement plats, and other survey documents.
  • Perform and oversee boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, construction staking, and other land surveying services.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable surveying standards, regulations, and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineers, developers, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Perform survey computations, data analysis, and quality control reviews.
  • Utilize modern survey technology and software to support project delivery.
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required.
  • Minimum 3+ years of progressive land surveying experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in survey management and project management.
  • Experience supporting residential development, commercial development, and land development projects.
  • Ability to perform all aspects of land surveying.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and ArcGIS.
  • Experience with survey computations, survey data processing, and survey drafting.
  • Hands-on experience with GPS/GNSS equipment, Trimble Total Stations, data collectors, and other modern survey equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of boundary surveying, topographic surveying, construction staking, and survey control.
  • Excellent written communication, verbal communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
