Reporting Relationship: Childcare Coordinator/Assistant
Salary and Salary Grade: $10.05 per hour; 70

Responsibilities
Description of Position:
FUNCTION: Assist with the care of children grade K – 6 in our before & afterschool program. Always providing the safest environment for all children involved.
DUTIES:
- Assist with the care of each child who is part of our program
- Assist with homework help and encourage engaging play for those without homework
- Assist with snacks, clean up of the same, instructing children to clean up their own space
- Share creative ideas with staff for excellence in program and beneficial to children
- Clean up program area as assigned, including after each project and teaching children to do the same
- Report concerns and/or medical incidents to supervisor on staff immediately.
- Help children to grow and learn while having fun
- Support and affirm the Mission of The Salvation Army while on Salvation Army duty
- Other job related duties as assigned
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Previous experience working with children helpful
- Patient and understanding attitude working with children from various background
- Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
- Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
