A SnapshotĀ 

AsĀ Project DirectorĀ reporting to our DevelopmentĀ Manager,Ā you will work closely with ourĀ DevelopmentĀ team, making an impact in a number of ways:Ā 

  • Responsible forĀ AirTrunk’sĀ program management team inĀ MelbourneĀ as we expand our operationsĀ 
  • Work with AirTrunk partners and customers to develop scope and designs for the seamless implementation and execution of the office and data hall fit outsĀ 
  • Liaise with and support the DevelopmentĀ ManagerĀ and senior management on client and customer proposals to ensure that there is seamless transition once projects are implementedĀ Ā 
  • Develop strong partnerships with general contractors and other vey vendorsĀ 

Your Day to DayĀ 

  • Project manage and overseeĀ preflight and inflightĀ construction related activities for new builds and fit out projects, including the ownership of the project scope, safety, quality, timeline and budgetĀ Ā 
  • ProvidingĀ leadership and support forĀ AirTrunksĀ project management teamsĀ 
  • Management and liaising with internal teams and senior management on time and cost for potential client proposalsĀ 
  • Management of the project programme to ensure all key objectives are met as well as contractor and customer milestones as per contractĀ 
  • Facilitate and be the main point of contact for any development related items or issues for the business and customersĀ 
  • Liaise closely with the General Contractor and suppliers on a weekly basis to make sure all outcomes are being metĀ 
  • Work with the PMO to influenceĀ internal stakeholdersĀ to achieve near andĀ long termĀ development objectivesĀ 
  • Risk management for the project(s) from end to end, including partnering with external parties to minimise risk on allĀ project aspectsĀ andĀ the implementationĀ ofĀ timelyĀ strategicĀ mitigation measuresĀ 
  • Review constructability of electrical and mechanical system designs associated with the construction of new data centres or the optimization of existing onesĀ 
  • Build and manage project scope, equipment requirements and assist with proposals and capital requestsĀ 
  • Liaise with project team and internal partners to ensure timely resolution of project risk and issuesĀ 
  • Track project progress, ensure safety; identify and lead quality and report cost, schedule and scope issuesĀ 
  • Oversight into the development and review tender packages, including building scope of works, bid templates, tender evaluations, reviews and recommendationsĀ 
  • Ownership of cost management, including developing and providing cost reporting, including cash flows and cost to complete reportsĀ 
  • Together with the Contracts Manager, review vendor claims, including payment claims, invoices, variations and time related claimsĀ 
  • Own and run reporting to management, the board and external partiesĀ 
  • Manage handover of completed projects to operationsĀ 
  • Handle customer and contractor access during the construction phase and collaborate with operations teamsĀ 
  • Assist in continued improvement of programme processes and design standardĀ 

RequirementsĀ 

  • 15+ years' construction experience inĀ large scale constructionĀ Ā 
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in mechanical/electrical/civil/structuralĀ engineering, project/construction management, is a plusĀ 
  • Experience working for a data centre operator/previous hyperscale or cloud provider in the APAC marketĀ 
  • Exceptionally flexible and forward-thinking as youĀ have toĀ be ready for a continuous change in directionĀ Ā 
  • Results focussed and a ā€œget things doneā€ approachĀ 
  • Nimble, innovative, egoless, funĀ Ā
