Job Summary

Handle complex property claims in the Cedar Rapids area with minimal supervision and guidance from the manager. 

Work Location

This is a fully remote/work from home role where you will spend 50% of your time in the field, servicing the Cedar Rapids territory. On occasion you may be asked to travel to an office location for in-person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and corporate events.

 

 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Summary of ResponsibilitiesHandle complex CL & PL property claims with minimal supervision and guidance from the manager. Utilize current Claims technology. Research and formulate a basis on which coverage decisions will be made, conduct thorough investigations, evaluate damages and liability. Negotiate settlements with insureds, claimants and attorneys. Responsibilities also include active file management, ensuring proper reserving, participation in training activities, presentation of claims to Committee and supervision of litigated files. Serve as a mentor for others in the team or department. Consistently exhibit a high level of customer service and adherence to department audit guidelines.Preferred Experience and Skills-Proficiency with computers and current technology-Interpersonal skills-Negotiation skills and problem solving skills-Prior experience handling large and complex claims-Oral and written communication skillsPreferred Education and Training-Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance or related field-Associate in Claims designation-Associate in General Insurance designation-CPCU coursework or other continuing education

Salary Statement

The salary range for this position is $68,000-$90,000.   

  

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.  Compensation decisions are made by West Bend and are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
