Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Radiology Assistant you will be a crucial part of our Imaging Services team, ensuring operational efficiency and delivering excellent patient care. You will support the smooth workflow within our radiology department, contributing directly to a positive patient experience.
Every day you will meticulously check and maintain department wheelchairs and carts, ensuring all patient transport equipment is mechanically sound and clean.
To be successful in this role, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.
- Checks department wheelchairs and carts daily assuring both are mechanically sound; immediately reportsequipment defects to supervisor.
- Cleans transporting equipment after every patient.
- Insures correct identity of patient before transporting.
- Verifies mode of transport and exam order in the chart prior to transport
- Checks with patients nurse prior to taking patient from the floor. If patient is on telemetry they must be called prior to the patient leaving the floor and upon their return.
Job Requirements
Required
- High School Diploma/GED
- Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR)
- Basic computer skills
- Completion of Restraint Training (within 6 months)
- Completion of Safe Patient Handling program (within 6 months)
- Completion of Oxygen Training program (within 6 months)
- Completion of Medical Terminology Course (within 6 months)
