Referral Coordinator (Therapy)
Referral intake & patient scheduling | Therapy | $18-24/ hr
Key responsibilities
- Receive and enter referrals from MedSender and other referral sources and enter into Atlas customized platform
- Triage and tag service type — therapy, med mgmt, psych testing
- Contact patients same day — confirm service interest and insurance
- Match patient to correct provider based on insurance, location, availability
- Schedule appointments for therapy and medication management
- Manage 3-attempt follow-up queue over 2 weeks for unreached patients
- Field inbound callbacks from Therarep queue same business day
- Discharge patients after 3 failed contact attempts and notify referring practitioner
Required qualifications
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in health sciences, psychology, or related field
- Clinical literacy — familiarity with mental health service types and terminology
- 1+ year experience in medical or behavioral health administrative role
- Strong phone communication and patient-facing skills
- HIPAA knowledge and compliance awareness
Preferred qualifications
- Experience as a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) or medical scheduler
- Familiarity with MedSender, Square, or similar platforms
- Experience in multi-department or multi-location practice
- Bilingual a plus
