Overview

Regional Nurse Educator & Infection Preventionist   RiverWoods is currently hiring for a Regional Nurse Educator & Infection Preventionist role to join our team! The Regional Nurse Educator & Infection Preventionist provides enterprise-wide leadership for nursing education, professional development, clinical competency, infection prevention, regulatory readiness, clinical auditing, and quality improvement across the RiverWoods healthcare system. This position develops, implements, and evaluates educational programs. Responsibilities

  • Lead organization-wide clinical education programs for RNs, LPNs, MNAs, LNAs, nurse managers, and healthcare leaders.
  • Provide nursing onboarding, orientation, competency validation, and continuing education and best practices across all RiverWoods Communities.
  • Provide enterprise leadership for the management of infectious disease outbreaks and other public health emergencies, including serving as a clinical resource to community leadership, coordinating response efforts, ensuring compliance with CDC and NH DHHS guidance, supporting required regulatory reporting, and maintaining flexibility to work additional hours or respond outside of normal business hours when necessary to effectively manage outbreak response.
  • Develop, implement, communicate, and evaluate the annual clinical education calendar, mandatory education programming, continuing education opportunities, and enterprise-wide training priorities.
  • Conduct quarterly onsite clinical risk assessments and provide written recommendations.
  • Conduct quarterly Infection Prevention, Environment of Care, and Clinical Chart review.
  • Support mock surveys and support DHHS/CMS health inspections.
  • Conduct learning needs assessments and design in-service and continuing education programs based on survey history, quality assurance data, clinical outcomes, infection prevention trends, risk findings, and feedback from staff and leadership.
  • Consult with clinical and operational leadership on a regular basis to identify training needs, recommend effective educational approaches, and support consistent implementation of best practices.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct CPR training, dementia training, electronic health record orientation, preceptor/mentor education, and other required or identified clinical education programs.
  • Maintain and improve educational resources, tools, and communication methods to ensure learning opportunities are effectively communicated to staff across the organization.
  • Develop annual education calendars and mandatory education programming.
  • Coordinate biannual clinical skills fairs.
  • Provide ongoing consultation and leadership support through onsite visits, phone, Teams, email, and text.
  • Support compliance with CMS, NH DHHS, CDC, OSHA, infection prevention standards, QAPI, and organizational policies.
  • Build a culture of continuous learning, clinical excellence, infection prevention, and regulatory readiness across RiverWoods.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the RELIAS web-based learning management system for tracking attendance, developing and assigning modules, and supporting compliance reporting.
  • Ensure nursing staff competency, support organizational quality initiatives, strengthen survey preparedness, and promote standardized clinical practices.
  • Actively participate in survey inspections by government agencies as needed.
  • Respond to emergency situations, infectious disease outbreaks, and other public health events as necessary to support resident safety, regulatory compliance, and organizational operations.
  • Analyze quality, infection prevention, and regulatory performance metrics to identify trends and recommend organization-wide performance improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with the Quality Team to identify enterprise clinical risks, develop corrective action plans, and monitor sustained compliance.
  • Conduct enterprise clinical monitoring and auditing activities to evaluate compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, documentation standards, and evidence-based clinical practice.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in nursing required. Master’s degree in Nursing Education preferred.
  • Certification Infection Control (CIC) through the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) or nationally recognized certification.
  • CPR Instructor Certification required or will obtain certification.
  • Must have active CPR certification.
  • Must possess and maintain a current, valid, unencumbered New Hampshire RN license.
  • Minimum five years of progressive nursing leadership experience with expertise in education, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency skills with Microsoft Office applications.
