Are you interested in financial services and risk management? Would you like to support and advise leading Nordic banks and insurers in tackling their most important challenges?  

We are looking for students who are finalising their studies or who have already graduated to join our Regulatory & Financial Risk team as Trainees in Helsinki. We would like you to start your 4-month Trainee period in January 2027. Our goal is that as many Trainees as possible continue with us after the Trainee period or after graduation. 

In this role, you will build expertise in financial services, participate in client projects, and support your team by performing research and analysis (e.g. collecting & visualising data and creating presentations). There are also opportunities for technically oriented Trainees to gain experience in risk model development and programming (Python, R, SQL). Collaboration is key at Deloitte, and you will be supported by a strong team of professionals. 

In our team, we work with a range of Financial Risk and Non-Financial Risk topics, for example Credit Risk Management (including e.g. evaluation of risk policies and strategies), Model Risk Management (including e.g. model development and validation), Capital Management & Stress testing, Treasury & Liquidity Risk, Data Governance, Operational Risk and Regulatory Reporting.

Qualifications

What do we hope for from you? 

Are you ready to act when needed and willing to learn? You’d probably fit well in our team! 

To succeed in this role, we also wish you have: 

• A recent master’s degree or ongoing master’s studies (for example in Economics and Business, Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics), with an excellent academic record 

• A strong drive to deliver results and enthusiasm to work together with others 

• Fluency in English (fluency in Finnish is not required but is beneficial) 

Previous work experience that supports the role is considered an advantage. Experience in banking, for example, is a plus, but the most important qualities are initiative and a desire to learn. 

To be considered for this Trainee position, a prerequisite is that you are currently allowed to work in Finland, holding a valid residence permit if required.

💬 Interviews: In the first stage, selected candidates will be invited to record short answers to video interview questions. In the second stage, we will meet selected candidates for a formal interview. Before the interviews, we will also ask you to complete a short suitability assessment. Interviews are tentatively scheduled for weeks 39–40, but we will begin interviews during the application period.
