The Research Associate will support the manufacture, assembly, and quality control (QC) of products across our Cambridge Conjugation, Kits, and Accessories portfolio.
They will also be responsible for carrying out Direct and Sandwich ELISA (QC) testing, antibody conjugation, lateral flow assays, protein desalting, and assay trend analysis, ensuring the generation of accurate, high-quality results and supporting the delivery of products and services that meet customer requirements.

This position reports to the Production Manager and is part of the Conjugation team within In-House Manufacturing, located in Cambridge, UK and will be an on-site, full-time lab based role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Perform LN2 snap-freezing, antibody conjugation, and protein desalting activities in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.

  • Conduct Direct and Sandwich ELISA quality control assays and lateral flow assays, ensuring the accurate generation, recording, and reporting of results.

  • Carry out assay trend analysis to monitor performance, identify deviations and trends, and support data-driven continuous improvement and quality assurance activities.

  • Maintain accurate records of experimental data using Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs), laboratory notebooks, and our Oracle ERP system, ensuring adherence to SOPs and ISO9001:2015 standards.

  • Support continuous improvement activities to improve manufacturing processes.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, consumables, reagents, and finished goods, ensuring stock levels are aligned with operational requirements.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Life Sciences degree (or equivalent) with hands-on laboratory experience gained through academic study or industry, including pipetting and liquid handling, reagent and buffer preparation, sample handling, and data recording. Familiarity with GLP, laboratory safety procedures, COSHH regulations, and working in accordance with SOPs is desirable.

  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for laboratory-based work, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and customer needs.

  • Effective communicator and collaborative team player, able to work independently when required.

.​It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: 

  • Use of an ERP system.
  • Experience operating an ÄKTA system including Unicorn method editing/writing.
  • Experience working in an industrial setting, especially under ISO9001 standards.
