Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Respiratory Care Practitioner, you will competently provide essential respiratory care for neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Your expertise is vital for critical respiratory interventions and patient well-being.Every day you will perform arterial punctures, continuous ventilation, airway maintenance, emergency care, infection control, isolation procedures, mechanical ventilator operation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and medical gas administration.To be successful, you will possess advanced clinical skills in all aspects of respiratory care across age groups, meticulous attention to detail, a strong commitment to patient safety and infection control, and the ability to perform effectively in emergencies.

  • Ensures that patient care is appropriate and effective and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that communications and interactions with patients and other care givers are appropriate and timely.
  • Ensures that patient and family education is accurate, culturally sensitive, and performed in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that diagnostic test results are accurate and reported in a timely manner.
  • Maintains all related equipment in optimal working order per policy and regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements

  • FOR NICU RCPs ONLY- must have atleast 20 hours of didactic training (including STABLE certificate) focused on neonatal care and able to show competencies in providing care in NICU setting under a preceptorship process (or equivalent) of at least 4 weeks.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner: CA
  • Basic Life Support - CPR
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program
  • Fire Safety, within 90 Days
  • Associates Of Science  or Bachelors of Science in Respiratory Therapy
  • 2 years acute care experience including, pediatrics, trauma, and ventilator management; blood gas and pulmonary function testing experience desirable; experience with extended and managed care preferred
