In order to support our rapid growth we are seeking to hire Restaurant Captain.
Our new Captain will implement our Service Excellence Culture at our fully renovated resort in Crete, Rocrita Lifestyle Beach Resort, which is located in the charming area of Mochlos, Crete. Our hotel is a haven for travelers seeking a refined and inspirational stay with their loved ones, and will be opening its doors for the season 2026. Position Summary
The Restaurant Captain is a supervisory role responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient operations in the hotel restaurant. This role involves overseeing the restaurant staff, coordinating guest service, and maintaining high standards of guest satisfaction and service quality.
Responsibilities
Operation and Staff ManagementÂ
- Create staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during peak dining hours and special eventsÂ
- Manage time-off requests and staff rotationsÂ
- Coordinate special events, private parties, and handle reservations, ensuring that guest preferences are metÂ
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of the restaurant service staff, including servers, busboys, and hosts/hostessesÂ
- Stay informed about menu offerings, specials, and changesÂ
- Communicate efficiently any menu related information to every staff memberÂ
Guest Service and SatisfactionÂ
- Address guest needs, answer questions, and resolve issuesÂ
- Maintain a welcoming atmosphere and uphold the hotel's brand imageÂ
- Handle guest complaints professionally and promptlyÂ
- Maintain clear communication with guests to meet their expectationsÂ
Quality ControlÂ
- Monitor the quality and presentation of food and beverages, ensuring they meet the hotel's standardsÂ
- Address any quality issues with the kitchen staffÂ
- Maintain safety, hygiene, and food safety protocolsÂ
Staff Training and DevelopmentÂ
- Train and mentor restaurant staff, focusing on proper service techniques, menu knowledge, and guest interactionÂ
- Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates and maintain a strong team spiritÂ
- Degree/Diploma in Tourism is desirable
- Three or more years of prior working experience in a similar role at a 5-star hotel
- Excellent knowledge of English language
- A second language (French, German, Russian, or Italian) will be considered as a plus
- Strong leadership qualities to effectively manage and coordinate restaurant staff, create schedules, and maintain a cohesive and motivated teamÂ
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with guests, staff, and kitchen personnel, ensuring clear and efficient communicationÂ
- The ability to manage staff schedules, time-off requests, and staff rotations to ensure adequate coverage during peak dining hours and special eventsÂ
- A focus on monitoring the quality and presentation of food and beverages, as well as maintaining safety, hygiene, and food safety protocolsÂ
- A guest-centric mindset that places guest satisfaction and expectations at the forefront of decision-making and service deliveryÂ
