Job Description:
The RN-Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist position is responsible for providing improvement in the overall quality and completeness of medical record documentation. This position will obtain appropriate clinical documentation through extensive interaction with physicians, nursing staff, other patient caregivers, and coding staff to ensure that appropriate reimbursement is received for the level of service rendered to patients and the clinical information utilized in profiling and reporting outcomes is complete and accurate and provides education to members of the organization on documentation guidelines and improvement efforts. Position can be remote, on-site or hybrid depending upon candidate selected.
Position Requirements:
Education-Associate Degree in Nursing required. Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience-Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist (CDIS) experience and/or training preferred.
Certifications-Current registered nurse (RN) license or temporary permit from the State of Nebraska required.
