Job Description

We are looking for an experienced SAP BW Consultant to join our team and support the development, administration, and optimization of enterprise data warehouse and reporting solutions. The role involves designing and maintaining SAP BW/HANA data models, developing reporting and data integration solutions, administering BW and SAP BO environments, and supporting business users across multiple departments. 

As a SAP BW Consultant, you will have tasks in the following areas:

Development

• Customization and development of the data model in SAP BW on HANA;
• ABAP development – Extractor exit, transformation routines, variables, classes and methods;
• Creation and maintenance of objects in transaction RSA1 – data sources, transformations, DTPs;
• Creation and maintenance of BW objects in HANA Studio – InfoObjects, DSOs, Composite Providers;
• HANA development – Calculation views, stored procedures;
• Using SQL for querying the HANA DB and for HANA development;
• Creation and maintenance of process chains for automated data loads;
• Creating BEx queries and workbooks in Analysis for Excel;
• Handling projects regarding product changes – from business requirements analysis and definition to implementing the data models and preparing queries;
• Handling the development process with segregation of duties, using Jira as a ticketing tool;
• Close cooperation with other business departments like Product Management, Controlling/Reporting, Accounting, Distribution Operations, Fraud.

Administration

• Handling large amounts of data – data reloads, detecting and solving data quality issues;
• Housekeeping of the BW system and database – deletion and archiving of data;
• SAP BO administration in CMC – user administration, error handling, scheduling and administration of scheduled reports;
• Administration of Analysis for Excel;
• BW user administration and understanding BW authorizations (roles and analysis permissions);
• Incident and change management in Service Now – creation and handling of incidents in case data load or system issues occur;
• HANA DB administration – identifying issues, DB user administration in development systems.

Support

• Supporting the reporting department in BEx query development and BW workspaces;
• BW user support - Supporting business users in accessing and using BW data (using Analysis for Office as a user frontend tool).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience working with SAP BW on HANA in development, administration, and support roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with ABAP development, including: extractor exits, transformation routines, variables, classes and methods.
• Solid experience creating and maintaining SAP BW objects in: RSA1 (DataSources, Transformations, DTPs), HANA Studio (InfoObjects, DSOs/ADSOs, Composite Providers).
• Experience creating and maintaining process chains for automated data loading and monitoring. 
• Experience with SAP BusinessObjects (SAP BO) administration in CMC, including: user administration, scheduling, error handling, report administration.
• Familiarity with HANA database administration, including user management and issue identification in development environments.
• Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable SAP BW/HANA data models and reporting solutions.
• Understanding of reporting and analytics processes in enterprise environments.
• Experience supporting reporting teams and business users with SAP BW reporting solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in production support environments.
• Experience providing end-user support for SAP BW reporting and Analysis for Office tools.
• Ability to monitor and resolve data load failures and system-related issues.
• Understanding of segregation of duties and controlled development/deployment processes.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• SAP BW/4HANA or SAP HANA certifications are nice to have.
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization in SAP BW/HANA environments.
