Science Teacher/HOD - AY26-27

Westview International Language School is seeking an experienced and visionary Science Teacher/Head of Department (HOD) for Academic Year 26-27 to lead our science department. Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality science lessons across various grade levels, inspiring students and promoting a deep understanding of scientific concepts.
• Lead and manage the science department by setting clear goals, developing curriculum, and monitoring teaching effectiveness.
• Support and mentor science teachers, facilitating professional development and fostering best teaching practices.
• Coordinate the planning and implementation of the science curriculum, ensuring alignment with school standards and educational frameworks.
• Analyze student performance data to inform instructional strategies and identify areas for improvement.
• Manage departmental resources, budgets, and equipment efficiently.
• Collaborate with school leadership and other departments to support school-wide initiatives and promote a cohesive educational environment.
• Engage with parents and the wider school community to encourage involvement and support for the science program.
• Stay current with educational trends, scientific advancements, and pedagogical best practices through continuous professional development.

• Bachelor's degree in Science Education, a relevant science field, or equivalent; a master’s degree is an advantage.
• Proven teaching experience, preferably 3+ years, with some in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage and inspire a team of teachers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, staff, parents, and stakeholders.
• In-depth knowledge of science curriculum development and assessment strategies.
• Commitment to fostering a positive, innovative, and inclusive learning environment.
• Ability to analyze data and implement improvements to raise student achievement.
• Teaching certification or professional qualifications relevant to the role preferred.
