Scientific Director  - Research to Practice (Remote)

Summary:  The Scientific Director is a key member of RTP’s scientific team, responsible for developing high-quality CME content and educational strategy across all areas of oncology and hematology. Working directly with Dr. Neil Love and other scientific staff, the Scientific Director will design, oversee, and evaluate educational initiatives that align with RTP’s standards of excellence and impact.

This individual must bring deep scientific knowledge, editorial precision, and creative vision to the role, ensuring that every activity—whether a live symposium, digital module, or print monograph—is both scientifically rigorous and clinically relevant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scientific Leadership & Program Development
  • Collaborate with Dr. Neil Love and the RTP scientific team to develop CME programs covering a wide range of oncology and hematology topics.
  • Independently design and execute all elements of CME programs, including:
    • Gap analysis (needs assessment)
    • Agenda and learning objectives
    • Educational format and outcomes plan
  • Alignment with RTP’s established style, tone, and scientific standards
  • Write and review content for educational materials, ensuring accuracy, balance, and compliance with ACCME guidelines.
  • Live program management including:
    • Faculty development/selection and interfacing with faculty on-site
    • Slide set and educational development (outcomes assessment, CME information, etc.)
  • Analyze assessment data and prepare presentations summarizing outcomes and insights for executive leadership.
  • Manage 1-2 junior level scientific staff

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific or clinical degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, or MS) required.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in medical communications, CME, or related field—preferably with oncology focus.
  • Demonstrated expertise in clinical oncology and an ability to interpret complex clinical data.
  • Experience conducting needs assessments, developing learning objectives, and writing CME content.
  • Strong understanding of ACCME standards, FDA regulations, and PhRMA code.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, intellectually demanding environment with multiple ongoing projects.
  • Travel Required 5 times per year to major scientific conferences
