About this role
The Seasonal Material Handler supports the team by receiving, organizing, staging, and distributing materials needed for projects. This is a temporary, seasonal position primarily for Summer 2026, with potential for extended or full-time opportunities based on performance and business needs. This role is critical to maintaining job site efficiency and ensuring crews have the right materials at the right time.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming roofing materials
- Organize and maintain inventory in the warehouse and job sites
- Stage and prepare materials for daily job site needs
- Load and unload materials from delivery trucks safely and efficiently
- Transport materials to and from job sites as needed
- Safely operate company vehicles and pull trailers up to 20 feet in length
- Ensure proper storage and handling to prevent damage or loss
- Assist roofing crews with material distribution on-site
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas (warehouse and job sites)
- Track inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines
Qualifications
- Experience in pulling and maneuvering trailers up to 20 feet required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in construction, warehouse, or material handling (roofing experience a plus)
- Basic knowledge of construction or roofing materials preferred
- Ability to operate forklifts or willingness to be trained
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs regularly and work in outdoor conditions
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of heavy materials
- Standing, walking, bending, and climbing for extended periods
- Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions
Work Environment
- Combination of warehouse and active construction job sites
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)
- Fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment
Compensation & Employment Terms
- Hourly, non-exempt position
