Our clients are looking for a Security & Assurance Officer to join their team.

ABOUT YOU & THE ROLE
Our clients are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Security & Assurance Officer to join our team. Positioned at the intersection of cyber security, governance, and technical assurance, this role is critical to maintaining the security and safeguarding of systems, data, and assets. You will be a technical security practitioner, providing evidence-based advice, executing compliance checks, and managing risks across multi-disciplinary security domains while collaborating with technical teams and senior leadership.

• Security Knowledge: Solid understanding of information security principles, threat/vulnerability management, and secure system design.
• Technical Auditing & Risk Assessment: Experience reviewing logs, vulnerability reports, and technical architectures to identify gaps and conduct risk assessments.
• Framework Alignment: Familiarity with applying standards such as ISO27001, NIST CSF, CIS Controls, or the Government Security Policy Framework (SPF).
• Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to interpret complex technical information and articulate security risks clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Certifications (Essential or Equivalent Experience):
  • ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC), CompTIA Security+, ISO27001 Foundation, or BCS CISMP.
  • Desirable: SSCP, CISSP, CySA+, BTL1, Microsoft SC-900/SC-200, ISO27001 Lead Implementer, or CPSA.
    
    

SOME THINGS YOU’LL BE WORKING ON

• Technical Security Assessments: Evaluate networks, cloud services, applications, and architectures to identify vulnerabilities, configuration issues, and control gaps.
• Monitoring & Data Analysis: Collect and interpret security logs, monitoring data, and audit outputs to detect anomalies and support security inquiries.
• Compliance & Auditing: Conduct regular audits and validate security controls against ISO27001, NIST, and internal security policies.
• Secure-by-Design Advice: Review system design changes and consult technical teams on baseline hardening, secure configurations, and risk mitigations.
• Incident Support: Assist in investigating security incidents by triaging alerts, validating evidence, and supporting specialist incident response teams.
• Third-Party & Identity Assurance: Review supplier security arrangements, privileged access management, and identity management processes to ensure compliance.
