Who We’re Looking For… 

VPL is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team, reporting directly to the Accounting Manager. In this role, you’ll work with the accounting team to manage AP & AR, while supporting the full accounting cycle from journal entries and reconciliations to assisting with monthly close and financial reporting. What You’ll Do… 

Accounting Operations

• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and related schedules 

• Perform general ledger activities including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations 

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements 

• Assist in managing AR, AP, payroll accounting, expense recognition, and revenue recognition 

• Partner with cross-functional teams to support business operations with timely financial data and insights 
  

Compliance & Controls 

• Ensure adherence to GAAP and support audit readiness throughout the year 

• Support internal control policies and procedures to help ensure compliance and financial integrity 

• Assist in preparing documentation for external audits, tax filings, and compliance reviews 

• Help identify and flag financial and operational risks within the accounting function 

Systems & Process Improvement 

• Support ongoing improvements to accounting systems (Sage Intacct) and processes to drive efficiency and scalability 

• Assist the Accounting Manager and VP of Finance in evaluating and implementing tools that streamline reporting, reconciliations, and close activities 

• Support the development of documentation, templates, and policies to help scale a growing accounting function 

What You’ll Bring… 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience 

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation 

• Experience in a SaaS or tech-enabled company preferred 

• Proficiency with accounting software (Sage Intacct strongly preferred), Microsoft Excel, and AI tools (e.g., Claude)  

• Strong written and verbal communication skills 

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and taking ownership of process improvements in a fast-scaling environment
